Visit the elegant Jardin des Plantes, a beautiful garden full of surprises !

The Jardin des Plantes, a large park and botanical garden located in the 5th arrondissement, is a must see for a pleasant stroll during your stay in Paris. It brings together many spaces open to the public to discover : 

The Jardin des Plantes : 

From the entrance on Place Valhubert, to the esplanade of the Grande Galerie de l'Evolution located 500 meters further, you will be dazzled by this incredible garden with paths lined by plane trees. The central aisle is made of long flowery rectangles, and during your visit, you will have the opportunity to learn more about the different plants, all of them being labeled. You will be able to admire many small spaces and gardens there : the Alpine garden, the rose and rock garden, the botany school, the garden of irises and perennials, the garden of peonies ... Discover these eleven gardens that create a unique and diverse Botanical Garden, in perpetual evolution.

The National Museum of Natural History : 

This incredible museum, which also has other sites in Paris and in France, brings together many cultural galleries devoted to nature. You will be able to discover the Grande Galerie de l'Evolution, where you will rediscover the great history of biodiversity and evolution, as well as 7,000 specimens reproductions. A modern place, dedicated to history and science. You will also find many other historical galleries there such as the Gallery of Paleontology and Comparative Anatomy and the Gallery of Mineralogy and Geology, all of them presenting the challenges of biodiversity.

The large greenhouses of the Jardin des Plantes : 

Discover magnificent exotic plants while exploring the large greenhouses ! There you will find the winter garden, sheltering under its 16-meter iron vaults incredible plants from hot and humid countries (orchids, ficus, banana trees, pandanus ...). Here you will also find the square (or Mexican) greenhouse, home to delicious plants from a dry and hot climate, including many cacti and euphorbiaceae.

The Menagerie, the Jardin des Plantes zoo : 

This sublime zoo is a large space of several hectares where nature is everywhere. As you walk through the many free-run alleys, you will see many animals housed in the various enclosures and buildings. 

Open daily, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Online tickets, even for free tickets, from € 10 to € 13 

Finally, you can also discover one of the site's many temporary exhibitions.
