Guided tour around the Hôtel du Jeu de Paume

Shakespeare and Company, the café - the must-visit bookshop in Paris.

Located just opposite Notre-Dame de Paris and only a 10-minute walk from the hotel, the Shakespeare and Company Café is next door to the historic English-language bookshop founded by the American George Whitman.

A true institution, the Shakespeare and Company is both a café and a bookshop, in English only. Opposite Notre-Dame Cathedral, the bookshop has been a meeting place for English-speaking authors since 1951.

You can of course find old books, especially the works of Shakespeare, but the bookshop also offers a children's corner and literary events. English-speaking writers can meet their readers, free of charge.

Today this place is a must for lovers of literature and beautiful places in Paris.
