The spire of Notre-Dame de Paris

The majestic Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral has always been the vibrant heart of the French capital, a symbol of history, faith and culture.

Atop this marvel stood the spire, an iconic structure that has dominated the Paris skyline for centuries. Notre-Dame's spire was a marvel of Gothic architecture. Rising to a height of almost 93 meters, it epitomized the cathedral's elegance and grandeur.

However, on April 15, 2019, a devastating fire broke out, consuming part of it, including its spire. This event triggered a worldwide outpouring of solidarity and rekindled the desire to restore this iconic landmark to its former glory.

Fortunately, Notre-Dame de Paris and its famous spire are about to make a comeback! Last December, Notre-Dame's symbolic cockerel, which has been repositioned on the new spire, was faithfully recreated based on its original model, found among the debris of the fire.

The cathedral is scheduled to reopen on December 8, 2024. However, you will already be able to admire the new spire from July 2024.

The Hôtel du Jeu de Paume is just an 8-minute walk away!
