Paul Poiret at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs

From June 25, 2025, to January 11, 2026, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris will shine a spotlight on Paul Poiret, a legendary figure of early 20th-century haute couture. This exceptional retrospective offers a rare opportunity to rediscover the visionary designer who freed women from the constraints of corsets and introduced a new, fluid, daring, and colorful fashion style.

A true pioneer since 1903, Poiret did more than revolutionize the female silhouette , he redefined fashion as a complete lifestyle. His creations merged clothing design, perfumery, decorative arts, and even gastronomy. This is the first exhibition entirely devoted to his flamboyant world, rich in oriental inspirations, artistic collaborations, notably with Raoul Dufy, and tributes to the Ballets Russes.

Through an impressive selection of garments, archival materials, and personal accounts, this exhibition reveals Poiret’s lasting influence on the most iconic designers of today. It's a captivating journey into the heart of the Roaring Twenties, where elegance met freedom and innovation.
