Known for its excellent macaroons, La Durée was founded in 1862 by Louis Ernest Ladurée, who opened his first pastry shop at 16 Rue Royale next to la Madeleine, it is the oldest one. The ground floor is particularly worth a detour, with its old woodwork and painted ceilings. A nice place to enjoy a delicious pastry during tea time!
