Known worldwide under her chosen name BAYA (1931-1998), the most singular Algerian artist of the 20th century. The works exhibited resonate with a selection of documents and shed new light on her personality, her genius and her career as an emancipated Algerian woman and an artist of universal dimension.

Some forty of her "first drawings" from 1944-45, all the gouaches from her 1947 Tales, a selection of unpublished historical documents, a vast selection of her paintings and sculptures from 1945 to 1998, and the results of research carried out by the historian Anissa Bouayed at the Archives nationales d'Outre-mer in Aix-en-Provence.
