The Galleria Continua Paris opens its doors in Paris !

The Galleria Continua, an Italian gallery already installed in seven major cities in the world (San Gimignano, Beijing, Havana, Rome, Sao Paulo…), showcases great artists representing contemporary artistic creation.

In France, it has already been present since 2007 in Île-de-France in Boissy-le-Châtel, where it is established in a former factory in Les Moulins: the Galleria Continua / Les Moulins. The gallery showcases famous works by great contemporary artists such as Daniel Buren, Leila Alaoui or Michelango Pistoletto.

A new Parisian space is now open, in the heart of the capital in Le Marais. A space of 800 m2, previously occupied by a leather goods wholesaler.

The Galleria Continua Paris will feature works by many artists such as Daniel Buren, Ai Weiwei, Kader Attia, Chen Zhen, Jonathas de Andrade, Leandro Erlich, Subodh Gupta, Jannis Kounellis, Anish Kapoor, Hans Op de Beeck, Kiki Smith, Pascal Marthine Tayou, or Nari Ward and many others.

On the occasion of this opening, organized by the famous street artist JR, a "Truc à faire" exhibition is set up until February 20, described as an  "art supermarket". The concept ? grab a basket, and browse this large, three-floors art supermarket, complete with a bookstore, grocery store / coffee shop, and works and art books to buy and admire, sometimes signed by the artists themselves. In the delicatessen part, you will find products from the different cities where the galleries are located: Green tea, truffled pecorino, guava jam, tapioca, cassava flour, rum, truffled pecorino, olive oil, Coulommiers or even cider from Seine et Marne… You can also find several trompe-l'oeil installations created for the occasion by JR himself.

The aim of this exhibition? To create a friendly place, where to come and discover and admire new artists, meet new people, have a drink, buy some products and art ... A gallery making contemporary art accessible to everyone !
